They are wax houlder heads, their hands are wax as well and grandma is missing a thumb, the bodies and legs are cloth. Grandma's hair is silk and Grandpa's hair and beard is mohair. Grandma has a wart in her face and is wearing metal glasses. They are both totally original and masterpieces. The clothing is hand stitched, superb!! The flowered dress has quilted flowers, the patches to make them appear quilted, were sewn on from the inside. Refer to pic. Her under dress is purple taffeta, her second underdress is muslin and her slip is tuelle. I just love them!! (PIC3143NR37645525) These are the Gibson Bride and Groom Dolls from the Franklin Mint Heirloom Doll Collection. They are approximately 22" tall and were authorized by Dana Gibson, great-granddaughter of Charles Dana Gibson.
The dolls iare crafted of fine bisque porcelain with hand-painted features and a wedding ring hand-painted in 24 karat gold.
Her hand detailed gown is made of a rich ivory satin and point d'esprit lace and has a long sweeping train. The gown is accented with petit faux pearls down the back and along the sleeve with small ivory colored roses on the veil and waist. Under her gown, she wears a lace trimmed ivory slip with an embroidered G.
The bride doll comes with a bridal bouquet of ivory colored roses and a strand of petit faux pearls. Her back is stamped Franklin Heirloom Doll 1987.
